Our Media Relations Officers are the official spokespersons for the Halton Regional Police Service and act as the primary liaisons between the police service and the media.
Communications for emergency and major incidents
Whenever feasible, the Halton Regional Police Service will provide information to the public on emergencies and major incidents. Such information is released through direct notification to media agencies and postings to our website and Twitter account. If necessary, the information will include alert or warning messages and instructions.
The immediate release of information will be dependent on public, victim and officer safety concerns as well as investigative integrity.

Attempted Robbery at Oakville Pharmacy

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating the attempted robbery of a pharmacy in Oakville.
On October 2, 2023, at approximately 8:20 pm two male suspects armed with a knife and a hammer entered a Shoppers Drug Mart location on Cornwall Road in Oakville. The suspects then proceeded to the rear of the pharmacy and demanded staff open the safe where narcotics are stored.
Staff informed the suspects that the locked safe was on a time-delay which would prevent it from being opened....

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Regional Auto Theft Task Force has recovered multiple stolen vehicles and disrupted an organized auto theft network operating in the GTA.
