Carjacking Investigation in Burlington

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating an armed carjacking incident in Burlington.

On Wednesday September 4, 2024, at approximately 1:55 am the victim pulled into a residential driveway in the area of North Shore Boulevard East and King Road. After the victim exited the driver seat of the vehicle they were approached by a suspect armed with a handgun (see attached photo). It is believed the suspect was hiding in nearby brush.

Two Arrested and Firearms Seized in Drug Investigation

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has seized multiple guns and laid nearly 30 charges as part of a drug trafficking investigation. 

The HRPS Drug and Organized Crime Unit commenced an investigation in the summer of 2024 into an individual suspected of trafficking illicit drugs in the region of Halton and throughout the GTHA.

On August 28, 2024, HRPS officers arrested Michael Akuffo (31yrs) of Mississauga and Tre Wynter (31yrs) of Brampton for their involvement.

Police Investigating Armed Home Invasion in Oakville

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating an armed home invasion in the town of Oakville. On August 27, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a group of three male suspects broke into a home on Spruce Street. The suspects smashed a glass door at the rear of the of the home with a rock.

The suspects were wearing masks and threatened the residents of the home with a gun and demanded keys to their BMW sedan. The suspects then stole the keys and fled in the vehicle.

Male Arrested and Charged with Sexual Assault in Burlington

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested and charged a man after a sexual assault at the Appleby GO Station in Burlington.

On August 22, 2024, at approximately 9:30 pm a female youth was seated in the waiting area of the train station when she was approached by an unknown adult male who put his hands on her multiple times. 

The female was able to get away from the suspect and police were contacted.

Police Investigating Shooting in Burlington - August 23

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a shooting that took place early this morning in Burlington.

On August 23, 2024, at approximately 2:20 am a series of gunshots were heard in the Alton Village area of Burlington. Police attended and located a parked vehicle on Verdi Street with multiple bullet holes. Fortunately, the vehicle was empty and no persons were hurt as a result of the shooting.
