Vehicle Fire - Suspicious Death in Burlington

UPDATE:

The Halton Regional Police Service has identified the victim of this homicide as 31-year-old Jerwin Belmonte (see attached photos). Belmonte is a resident of Edmonton Alberta, who had recently re-located to Toronto. Belmonte was last seen alive in the area of Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue East in Toronto on the 26th of November 2022.

Passing of Retired Chief James Harding

The Halton Regional Police Service and its members are deeply saddened by yesterday's passing of Retired Chief James (Jim) Harding.

Chief Harding was hired by the Halton Regional Police Service in 1979.  He remained with the Service until his retirement in 1994. Chief Harding was a pioneer leader whose contributions shaped our Service and the policing profession.

We will miss him greatly. Our hearts and thoughts are with the Harding family.

Oakville Shooting - August 19th 2022

***UPDATE***

Following the post-mortem examination, the victim of the homicide in Oakville on August 19, 2022, has been identified as 27- year-old Arman Dhillon of Alberta (see attached photo provided by family).

Further to the original release, the suspect vehicle in this homicide has been identified as a white Acura MDX that was set on fire on Addingham Crescent in east Oakville on August 19, 2022.

Police Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Suspects in Purse Thefts

In a media release last week we asked for assistance in identifying a person (Suspect #3) who we believed to be involved. Investigators have since identified the individual and have determined that he had no involvement in these incidents.
