***UPDATE*** Auto Theft Prevention Campaign Expands

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is pleased to announce the expansion of an existing a program to help combat auto thefts in the region of Halton.
Project Oxygen began in May (2023) and encourages residents to place third-party trackers (such as an Apple Air Tag, Tile, Galaxy Smart Tag or Atuvos) inside their vehicles. This program initially started with the participation of six dealerships in Oakville (see details provided in initial release below) installing the trackers for residents.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is looking to identify a female in relation to a NON-CRIMINAL investigation in Oakville.
Investigators are looking to speak with anyone that has dash-cam footage from the area of Speers Road between Third Line and Fourth Line on Monday, April 10, 2023 between 1:40 pm and 2:00 pm. Since February 2023, members of the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Regional Auto Theft Task Force have been investigating a network of “Re-Vinned” vehicles circulating Ontario.
“Re-Vinning” is the act of changing the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of a stolen vehicle to a fraudulently fabricated number, concealing the fact the vehicle is stolen.

Caught on Tape - Suspect to Identify: Occurrence Number: 2022-335311

On November 10th, 2022, the suspect attended a Home Depot in Burlington and attempted to steal two shopping carts full of store merchandise. When confronted by security, the suspect fled the store and stole a motor vehicle from the parking lot.
Suspect: male, wearing a blue, red and white track suite, white shoes and a blue hat.
