The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid multiple charges after an investigation into a break and enter in Oakville.
On April 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 am three masked suspects broke into a home on Pinehurst Drive in Oakville. The suspects used a rock to smash a glass door at the front of the home. Investigators believe the suspects were targeting the keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home, however they were unable to locate them and fled in a previously stolen vehicle.
The residents were home at the time of the break-in and were not physically injured.
Police located the getaway vehicle abandoned later that same day in Toronto and after a lengthy investigation identified a suspect.
On July 11, 2024, HRPS officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto and arrested one of the three suspects.
Shahfaisal Qureshi (21) of Toronto has been charged with the following:
- Break and Enter
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Qureshi was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Police are still seeking two additional suspects and anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.
