The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) have made an arrest and laid multiple charges in relation to a sexual assault investigation.

On November 13, 2024 the HRPS initiated an investigation after an adult female reported being sexually assaulted by the accused.

As a result of the investigation, on November 14, 2024, Trevor Cant, (35) of Burlington was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault, and Voyeurism.

During the course of the investigation a second adult female was also identified as a victim. As a result of the continued investigation, on November 21, 2024 Cant was also charged with Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm (Strangulation).

Cant was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date.

The accused is known to access dating sites and social media applications where he utilizes the usernames Trevor Cant and Tre Dizz. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and a photo of the accused has been attached to this media release.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated.  A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault.  This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
