The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made four arrests following a robbery at the Telus store located at the Mapleview Shopping Centre in Burlington.
On April 22, 2025, at approximately 11:35 am four male suspects wearing masks entered the Telus store and began ripping phones off display cases. No weapons were used by the suspects and no injuries were sustained by any of the employees during the robbery.
The suspects fled the mall in a white Honda CRV that was stolen out of Toronto and driven by a fifth suspect. The CRV entered the QEW eastbound at Brant street and was later involved in a single vehicle collision in the area of the 403 and Trafalgar Road in Oakville. The suspects then fled the scene of the collision on foot, however four of the five were quickly located and arrested by responding HRPS officers. None of the suspects were seriously injured in the collision.
19-year-old Bernardo Aquino of Toronto has been charged with the following:
- Dangerous Operation
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5k
- Disguise with Intent
19-year-old Malik Patino of Ajax has been charged with the following:
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5k
- Disguise with Intent
A 15-year-old male of Etobicoke has been charged with the following:
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5k
- Disguise with Intent
A 15-year-old male has been charged with the following:
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5k
- Disguise with Intent
The outstanding suspect was last seen on foot near the crash site wearing a Spiderman mask and a camouflage jacket.
All accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
