The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), in partnership with the Town of Oakville Municipal Enforcement Services, is once again launching the annual project, Police on Park Patrol (P.O.P.P).

With the arrival of warmer weather an increasing number of Oakville residents are heading to town parks, school grounds and trail systems. As a result, both the HRPS and Oakville Municipal Enforcement Services receive an increased level of complaints and calls for service related to issues in these public spaces.

Project P.O.P.P. will help ensure everyone can enjoy these spaces safely with increased patrols at a number of municipal parks, school properties and trails across Oakville. The project will include enforcement of town by-laws as well as Provincial and Criminal statutes, including:

•Mischief

•Loitering

•Underage drinking/Drug Use

•Disturbances

•Noise complaints

This project will run through the summer beginning June 28, 2024, and will end September 1, 2024.

The Halton Regional Police Service and its partners remain committed to community safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the community can continue to call the Halton Regional Police Service non-emergency line 905-825-4777 to report nuisance-related concerns.
