The Halton Regional Police Service has arrested a suspect and laid and multiple charges in relation to a voyeurism investigation in Burlington.

On June 25 2024 the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 4524 New Street in Burlington, in response to a male in the store using his cell phone to take photo’s up the skirts and dresses of unsuspecting females. The male fled prior to police arrival. An investigation was undertaken by members of the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau who, throughout the course of their investigation, identified 7 separate incidents of voyeurism occurring over 3 different dates at this location. Dates identified were June 25, July 8, and August 7 2024. In most of these cases the victims were unaware photos were being taken.

As a result of the investigation, on August 15, 2024 Mohammed Abdals El-Sheikh (37) of Etobicoke was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Voyeurism (7 Counts)
  • Criminal Harassment

El-Sheikh has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and a photo of the accused is attached to this media release.
