The Halton Regional Police Service Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a man wanted for a historical sexual assault in Burlington.
During the overnight hours of December 15, 1980 a woman in her 30's was walking in the area of Nelson Street and Ontario Street when she observed a man standing beside a parked vehicle on the opposite side of the street. The man began to walk parallel to the woman eventually crossing the street to her side. Approaching the woman he asked her if she would like a ride home which she refuted and continued to walk. Within minutes the man grabbed the woman and dragged her to a nearby yard where she was sexually assaulted. The woman suffered physical injuries from the attack.
