The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating an altercation involving a firearm outside of a downtown Oakville restaurant.

On Friday July 21, 2023, at approximately 11:55 pm police were called to the area of Lakeshore Road East and Reynolds Street in Oakville after multiple reports of at least one gunshot being fired.

A victim was outside of a restaurant when he was approached by a suspect and an altercation took place. At least one shot was fired by the suspect. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The suspect fled eastbound on Lakeshore Road in a dark coloured SUV.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s. No arrests have been made.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have dash cam footage of the areas of Lakeshore Road (east and westbound) and Trafalgar Road (north and south) between the hours of 11:30 pm – 12:30 am (July 21 -22) to contact police.
