The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a sexual assault suspect in Milton.

On Sunday August 4, 2024, an adult female was sexually assaulted by an unidentified male.

The female entered the Indian Creek Trail path near Main Street and the Sherwood Community Centre and was walking southbound adjacent to Forbes Terrace at approximately 11:10 am when the assault took place. The suspect approached her from behind and slapped her buttocks with his hand. The male then reached into his own pants and began speaking to the female.

The woman continued walking on the trail and the suspect fled northbound towards Main Street when another person was seen approaching from further down the path. It is unknown at which point the suspect exited the trail. The female was not physically injured as a result of the assault.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s. He is approximately 6’ tall with a thin build and blonde medium length hair kept just above his shoulders. He was clean shaven and wearing a green button up short sleeved shirt with blue jeans and brown shoes.

Police are asking that anyone who may have been in the area on August 4, between 10:30 and 11:30 am and seen someone matching that description contact police. Investigators also ask that anyone who lives in the area or was driving in the area and has cameras check to see if they caught an image of a suspect matching that description.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated.  A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault.  This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
