The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested two suspects and laid multiple charges in response to a commercial break and enter in Oakville.
On August 15 2024, at 2:11 am HRPS officers were dispatched to a mechanic garage located at 142 Cross Avenue in Oakville, in response to a suspicious vehicle, and two suspicious persons in the area of the garage. Officers arrived on scene observing the suspects attempting to break into the building by forcing open the rear door. Both suspects were quickly taken into custody without incident. The building was unoccupied at the time of entry.
Michael Maiato (44) of no fixed address has been charged with the following:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Christopher Fenton (42) of no fixed address has been charged with the following:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
- Fail to Comply with Release Order (2 Counts)
Both Maiato and Fenton have been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Fenton had been subject to two separate release orders for similar offences at the time of his arrest.
