The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made two arrests and laid multiple charges after a traffic stop in Oakville.

On Saturday November 16, 2024, at approximately 1:30 am police attempted a traffic stop in the area of Kobzar Drive and Travertine Drive. The vehicle accelerated away from police at a high rate of speed.

Police were able to stop the vehicle with the use of a tire deflation device near Trafalgar Road on the eastbound 407. The two female occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody at that time.

As a result of the investigation, Maryam Saleem (18) of Mississauga has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax)
  • Flight from Police
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

As a result of the investigation, Alina Aleem (19) of Mississauga has been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax)
