The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested two males and laid multiple charges in response to an armed home invasion in Milton.

On January 12, 2025, at 12:52 am three suspects broke into a home in the area of Walnut Landing and Proud Drive where two of the suspects armed with handguns, the third brandishing a hammer, confronted an adult male resident of the home while a second adult female hid within the residence. Designer clothing items, jewelry, bank cards and the keys to a Dodge Durango were stolen and the three suspects fled in a waiting Honda Civic hatchback driven by a fourth suspect. The victims did not sustain any physical injuries.

On January 18, 2025, at 5:40 am two suspects then returned to the same residence and stole the Dodge Durango from the residence driveway.

Members of the HRPS 1 District Robbery Unit took carriage of the investigation and on January 29, 2025, Criminal Code search warrants were executed at residences in Toronto and Milton where a quantity of the victim’s property was located and recovered.

As a result of the investigation, on January 29, 2025, Alex Ghakhar (27) of Toronto was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Break and Enter
  • Robbery Using a Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card
  • Operation While Prohibited (3 Counts)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 Counts)
  • Possession of Automobile Master Key
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000

 

As a result of the investigation, on January 29, 2025, Ali Zaman (27) of Milton was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Break and Enter
  • Robbery Using a Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card

Ghakhar and Zaman were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Follow up investigation has recovered the stolen Dodge Durango; however, the 1 District Robbery Unit is continuing to search for and identify other outstanding suspects connected to the investigation.
