The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking witnesses to help identify a lone male who entered two different convenience stores, threatening the store workers with a firearm and demanding money.

On November 29, 2024, at approximately 2:45p.m. the suspect entered the Maplewood Mart located at 796 Brant Street in Burlington. Once inside the store the suspect brandished a black and silver firearm and pointed it at the store employee. The suspect demanded money, however when unsuccessful in obtaining any, stole energy drinks and fled the store.

Approximately 45 minutes later, the same suspect entered the Ontario Variety Store located at 1325 Ontario Street in Burlington and produced the same firearm, once again pointing it at the store employee and demanding money. The employee pushed the suspect away and the suspect fled along Ontario Street.

No physical injures to any members of the public were sustained in either robbery.

The suspect (pictured below) is described as:

Male, wearing a grey sweatshirt, hood up (recovered), black pants, black running shoes and a black face covering.
