Annual Vacation Entitlement
Initially, annual vacation entitlement is one (1) day of paid vacation for each month of service, up to a maximum of ten (10) days. Annual vacation entitlement increases in the following structure:
- Three (3) years of service: three (3) weeks of paid vacation per year.
- Ten (10) years of service: four (4) weeks of paid vacation per year.
- Fifteen (15) years of service: five (5) weeks of paid vacation per year.

Annually, civilian members are entitled to twelve (12) named holidays, plus one (1) unnamed day:

Retirement and Pension Plan
HRPS civilian employees have a normal retirement age of 65.
The HRPS contributes to the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) Pension Plan. The contribution rate is 8.3% of contributory earnings by each employee and the Board, up to the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) maximum. The contribution rate is 12.8% on any eligible earnings above the CPP maximum.
Tuition Reimbursement
Civilian members are eligible to receive a maximum of $2,500 per year for successful completion of part-time studies and courses.
